Aftercare 

• Leave your bandage on for a minimum of 4 hours after your tattoo session. If the work was done in the late evening, feel free to leave the bandage on overnight.• GENTLY remove the bandage. If it is stuck to the tattoo at all, DO NOT just pull it off. Apply a warm, wet compress and remove carefully.• After washing your hands, GENTLY wash the tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap to remove all ointment and/or dried blood & plasma.• Pat dry with a new disposable paper towel or air dry. Do not rub dry.  • Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor ointment to the tattoo. Never apply new ointment on top of old ointment or you will pack bacteria into your tattoo.    • For the first 3 days, repeat above steps 1 – 3 three times aday. day.• After a few days the tattoo will start to peel, be gentle when washing and applying ointment being especially careful not to pull off any skin that is peeling. *Not letting this loose/peeling skin fall off naturally could result in loss of pigment or scarring in that area.• After the 3 day Aquaphor regiment, stop using Aquaphor and instead apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to the tattoo 3 times a day or whenever the tattoo looks dry.Warnings:• During the healing process DO NOT soak your new tattoo in water (bath tubs, hot tubs, lakes, swimming pools, etc) for at least 3 weeks.• DO NOT expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning lights.• DO NOT pick or scratch your new tattoo (It WILL itch!!)• During first few days your new tattoo will be sore so becareful with it! After the first 3-5 days, if any redness or swelling occur, the tattoo is warm to the touch, or you have a fever consult a heath care professional immediately.• Consult a health care professional at first sign of infection. Reminders:• The way you take care of your tattoo will greatly determine the way it looks after it is healed! Follow the steps above for success!• Try to wear loose fitting clothing while the tattoo is healing to keep it from rubbing against loose skin.• Use high SPF sunscreen on your tattoo once healed to avoid fading.
